Review:
I was a fan of the graphic novel V for Vendetta, Alan Moore and deny the film was a bit 'daunting. But he's always been a bit 'crazy. The movie version is everything we could have hoped for - gripping, chilling, intense, emotional, moving. Moores It puts music, if not his exact words, the elements are a little 'different, subplots removed. But the idea - the same as V would be very proud to say - still the same. The story is surprisingly complex and nuanced, and I do not give anything more away than the previews we already have. Suffice it to say that a masked anarchist (voiced by Hugo Weaving) has to save a young woman (Natalie Portman), in his attempt to expose corruption in government. The texture is perfectly fused with his formidable voice and imposing severe physical to the madness of the character. Portman has gone from teen star Ninoa and finally emerges as a talented adult actress after her Oscar-nominated turn in Closer. Here, she gives her best performance to date as an orphan Evey. John Hurt is awesome feature as head of government and enigmatic Stephen Rea gives a wonderful back support as police inspector in charge of finding V -? Before it's too late. The former prot g Wachowski Brothers, James McTiegue, assumed the management duties here and helmets a hugely impressive first feature, using every trick in the book in a manner reminiscent of his mentors Hit Break The Matrix. Unlike The Matrix, McTiegue allows the story to be more of a focus of the action, and as a result the film is a taut thriller and emotional, with bursts of dramatic action photos and choreography. Showing more maturity and restraint by the Wachowski brothers, McTiegue does not show, and his deception is not self-conscious. When the sequence of the forward slow motion action late, it seems as natural as breathing. The late director Adrian Biddle (the film is dedicated to his memory) does an outstanding job, Marianellis score Oscar nominee Dario is an excellent complement to the piece, and the visual effects are amazing, terrifying and touching moments especially on action for the climate in Trafalgar Square. With solid, great action, and great technical wizardry, it sounds like another Matrix-style scam. But the biggest difference is that V is a real history of ideas - not one, creating fantastic science fiction, but a real examination of the human condition. The power of fear is central here - the fear of war, disease, hunger. Fear is a basic human nature, and has been used as a weapon - a method of control - for centuries. And for those who use it, a masked man waiting in the shadows to carry out the sentence. The verdict? Vengeance. V for Vendetta is a must-see.10/10
